How to launch your website live
To launch your website live, your domain needs to point to Host Luma so visitors reach the hosted WordPress website instead of an old provider, parking page or registrar page.
Before you change DNS
Make sure your website is ready on the Host Luma preview link.
Check important pages such as Home, Contact, Services and Privacy Policy.
Check that forms, buttons and menus work correctly.
Make sure you know where your domain is registered.
Step 1: Log into your domain registrar
Open the account where your domain was purchased. This may be a company such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, IONOS, Fasthosts, 123 Reg or another registrar.
Step 2: Find nameserver settings
Look for Nameservers, DNS Settings, Custom DNS or Domain Management.
Step 3: Enter Host Luma nameservers
Set nameserver 1 to ns1.hostluma.co.uk
Set nameserver 2 to ns2.hostluma.co.uk
Step 4: Save changes
Save the nameserver update and allow time for DNS propagation.
Step 5: Test the live domain
Visit your domain in a browser. It may update quickly, or it may take several hours depending on DNS caching.
Important notes
If you use external email, check MX records before changing nameservers. Ask Host Luma support if you are unsure, because incorrect DNS settings can interrupt email.
